Apricot and Ginger Cheesy Sausage Rolls


This classic pastry dish has been elevated by adding our BRAND NEW Apricot & Ginger Cheddar cheese and a spoonful of our Tangy Apple chutney to give a delicious and fruity flavour. 

 

This quick and easy recipe is perfect to make up for the whole family and will go down a treat.

Ingredients:

  • 150g Chuckling Apricot & Ginger Cheddar

  • 4 tbsp Chuckling Tangy Apple Chutney

  • 8 Lincolnshire sausages 

  • 1 Sheet of pre rolled puff pastry

  • 1 Egg (to wash)

  • Seasonings (to taste)



 

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan 160°C, gas mark 4.

  2. In a bowl add sausage meat, 50g of grated Chuckling apricot & ginger cheddar and any seasonings wanted (we went for salt, pepper, and sage). Mix well everything is fully combined.

  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut horizontally into 2 even long strips.

  4. Add 2 heaped tablespoons of Chuckling Tangy Apple Chutney to each piece and spread evenly across the pastry.

  5. Then divide the sausage mixture in half and add to the pastry in a long log form. Do this to both sheets

  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the sausage meat.

  7. Fold one side of the pastry over to the other to form the sausage roll and press the edges together, do this to both sheets.

  8. Cut the logs into even small slices (approximately 10 per sheet)

  9. Place these on a baking tray and egg wash.

  10. Place in the oven for approximately 18 minutes or until cooked through and the pastry is golden brown.

  11. Serve warm or cool and enjoy.
