Piggy Cheese Ball Recipe


With Christmas just around the corner why not try our delicious and festive, Pigs in Blankets Cheddar Truckle! With it’s smooth creamy texture and smokey flavour it will sure be a crowd pleaser this winter! This cheese ball recipe is quick, simple and extremely moreish (something everyone likes at Christmas).

You will need: 
 

  • A Knife
  • A Chopping board
  • A Plate
  • Cling film
  • A cheese knife
  • A frying pan
 

Ingredients:
 

  • Pigs in blankets cheddar truckle
  • 200g soft cheese
  • Smoked Bacon
  • Crackers
  • Pecan Nuts
  • onion
  • Olives
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Oil
 

Method:

 
  1. Begin by preparing your chopped ingredients, on a chopping board cut pecans, olives, onion into small pieces and place to the side in a bowl.

  2. Fry bacon to the crispiness you like and cut and add to the bowl of other ingredients.

  3. In the bowl add the soft cheese and ¾ of the Pigs in blankets cheddar truckle, give this a through mix.

  4. Once mixed add in teaspoon of lemon juice, worcester sauce, mixed herbs and salt & pepper to taste. Give one last stir to make sure everything is mixed properly.

  5. Take this mixture out of the bowl and begin rolling on a flat surface to  create a 

  6. Take a piece of cling film and sprinkle with ⅛ of the remaining pigs in blanket truckle then take the mixture out of the bowl and begin forming a ball using the clingfilm, once a ball has formed sprinkle the rest of the truckle on top and wrap it up and put it in the fridge for 2 hours.

  7. Place the cheese ball in the middle of the plate and sprinkle some crushed pecan on for decorating and surround with your favorite crackers.

  8. Serve and enjoy with friends and family.
