You will need:

  • Oven dish
  • Slicer
  • Pan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Knife
  • Chopping board
  • Grater
  • Jug
  • Spatula

Ingredients:

  • 500ml Milk
  • 300ml Cream
  • 200g Pigs in Blankets Cheddar Truckle
  • 800g Potatoes
  • 200g Bacon Lardons
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 2 cloves of bashed garlic

Method:

  1. Heat the oven to 180C. In a large pan add milk, cream, seasonings and garlic and place in the thinly sliced potatoes, making sure these are of even thickness, and bring to a boil.
  2. Whilst this is coming to the boil, fry off your bacon lardons until golden and crispy. And grate your Pigs in Blanket cheddar to use next.
  3. Butter an oven proof dish and begin assembling your dauphinoise, start by layering the potatoes, then sprinkle a small amount of the lardons and cheddar on, season to taste and layer these up constantly until you reach near the top of the dish. Once almost full, pour the rest of the cream mixture and finish off with the rest of the cheese and lardons.
  4. Cover with foil and place in the oven for 1 hour, after this time remove foil and place back in the oven for a further 30 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.
  5. Serve as a side to enhance a delicious dinner.
